Me and My Cup of Tea
Quiet of the night, softly beckoning
Pen and paper, gently touching
Threading together, these soulful words
Are now with me
And my cup of tea
My thoughts rush me, to the past
I feel my heart just racing fast
Those bittersweet pains, those unfulfilled dreams
Are now with me
And my cup of tea
The tinkle of wind-chimes, eerily cry
As time stood still, and life rushed by
Those whispered memories, those stories untold
Are now with me
And my cup of tea
Stringing together, words of yore
Meagre belongings, my future in store
Those unknown new, and these comforting old
Are now with me
And my cup of tea
Voices of the present, bringing in early dawn
Reminding me, that life was still on
Those ink-stained papers, those interrupted thoughts
Are now with me
And my cup of tea

Sitting quietly on a wintry night (whatever winter Mumbai has) in January 2019, I was listening to an audio where the speaker in a very soothing voice recited a poem on his encounter with tea.I was inspired by this poem titled "Main aur Meri Chai" by Amber Srivastava and I picked up the title to write my own thoughts.
